Standard Model Higgs boson mass from inflation: two loop analysis

چکیده
We extend the analysis of [1] of the Standard Model Higgs inflation accounting for two-loop radiative corrections to the effective potential. As was expected, higher loop effects result in some modification of the interval for allowed Higgs masses mmin < mH < mmax, which somewhat exceeds the region in which the Standard Model can be considered as a viable effective field theory all the way up to the Planck scale. The dependence of the index ns of scalar perturbations on the Higgs mass is computed in two different renormalization procedures, associated with the Einstein (I) and Jordan (II) frames. In the procedure I the predictions of the spectral index of scalar fluctuations and of the tensorto-scalar ratio practically do not depend on the Higgs mass within the admitted region and are equal to ns = 0.97 and r = 0.0034 respectively. In the procedure II the index ns acquires the visible dependence on the Higgs mass and and goes out of the admitted interval at mH below mmin. We compare our findings with the results of [2].

Standard Model Higgs boson mass from inflation
We analyse one-loop radiative corrections to the inflationary potential in the theory, where inflation is driven by the Standard Model Higgs field. We show that inflation is possible provided the Higgs mass mH lies in the interval mmin < mH < mmax, where mmin = [136.7 + (mt − 171.2) × 1.95] GeV, mmax = [184.5 + (mt − 171.2) × 0.5] GeV and mt is the mass of the top quark. Moreover, the predictio...
متن کاملAnalytic evaluation of two–loop renormalization constants of enhanced electroweak strength in the Higgs sector of the Standard Model
We calculate renormalization constants ZH,w, the Higgs and W–boson mass and tadpole counterterms in the on–mass-shell renormalization scheme to two loops in the heavy–Higgs– boson limit mH ≫ MW . Explicit analytic formulae are presented for the two–loop integrals with masses, which are not known in the literature. As an application, the analytic expression for the two–loop leading correction to...
متن کاملThe gauge boson contributions to the radiatively corrected mass of the scalar Higgs boson in the minimal supersymmetric standard model
We derive analytic formulas for the radiatively corrected mass of the scalar Higgs boson in the framework of the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM). Since the scalar-top-quark mass in our analysis include terms proportional to the gauge couplings in the 1-loop effective potential, the radiatively corrected mass of the scalar Higgs boson partially contains the gauge boson contributions...
متن کاملHiggs Boson Searches at LEP 2
In this talk preliminary results of Higgs boson searches at LEP2 up to centre-of-mass energies of 183 GeV have been summarised. The main topics are searches for the Minimal Standard Model (MSM) Higgs boson and searches for neutral Higgs bosons of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM). No indication for Higgs production has been found. The experiments have published their Higgs search...
متن کاملSinglet scalar dark matter effects on Higgs boson driven inflation
A minimal candidate for dark matter is provided by a stable standard model singlet hermitian scalar field. The quantum mechanical effects of this singlet are explored in a model where the standard model Higgs boson has a large non-minimal coupling to the Ricci scalar and plays the role of the inflaton. Imposition of the slow roll inflation cosmological constraints restricts the allowed values o...
